Hours and Holidays

Starting March 19, 2020, the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau is suspending all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible, but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. There is no fee to change an appointment and visa application fees are valid for one year. To reschedule an immigrant visa appointment or to request an emergency nonimmigrant visa appointment for immediate travel to the United States for medical reasons, funerals, urgent business travel, urgent exchange visitor (J-1) or student (F-1) travel, or travel as a crew member (C1/D), please e-mail support-hongkong@ustraveldocs.com or call +852-5808-4666.

Rainy and Typhoon Season

The annual rainy and typhoon season lasts throughout the autumn months. Please be advised that if Black Rainstorm Warning OR Typhoon Signal 8 or above is announced by the Hong Kong Observatory, the Consulate General will be closed. Please see “Consular Services During the Rainy and Typhoon Season” for details.
