The Sundance Film Festival came to Hong Kong for its second year from September 17-27, hosted by a major local cinema with support from the State of Utah. This year’s festival featured 11 independent movies with filmmakers’ discussions, a one-day film music day lab, and the U.S. Consulate-sponsored Film Forward outreach program for student audiences. CG Hart spoke at the opening ceremony as one of the officiating guests. Apart from hosting the Sundance Film Festival each January, the Sundance Institute runs over 50 public programs every year with the objective of grooming film talents, presenting original voices and creating a community around independent storytelling.
