Speaking to an audience of more than 80 students and faculty members, Consul General Hart shared his own “Diplomat’s Journey” on February 24 in a speech at the Chu Hai College of Higher Education. Consul General Hart outlined his extensive career as a U.S. diplomat, which he said came full circle across the Pearl River Delta – first beginning in Guangzhou in 1983, and now in Hong Kong 33 years later. CG Hart talked about the role of the Consulate, the continued importance of people-to-people relations in the Internet Age, and why diplomacy matters. During an extended Q&A, the Consul General also shared some career advice with students while responding to their questions and concerns.
