Consul General Kurt W. Tong delivered a speech titled, “United States and Hong Kong: Collaborating for an Innovative Future” to students at Hong Kong Polytechnic University on December 2. The speech highlighted President Obama’s efforts to elevate innovation and entrepreneurship in U.S. foreign policy, including the 2010 creation of the annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). Consul General Tong talked about America’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. He also commended the Hong Kong government’s efforts and progress in creating its own entrepreneurial ecosystem. He challenged students to use entrepreneurship as a vehicle to drive regional economic growth and social inclusion. Consul General Tong also met with Polytechnic University President, Professor Timothy Tong, and visited the university’s House of Innovation.
