CG Tong Meets with Hong Kong-U.S. Business Council

Consul General Tong met with the Hong Kong-U.S. Business Council (HKUSBC) at its plenary meeting on January 16-17. Organized under the auspices of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the HKUSBC is comprised of senior executives from some of the world’s most prominent companies and serves as a forum for U.S. and Hong Kong business leaders to exchange views on Hong Kong’s economic importance as a model for China’s future commercial reforms. It advocates policies and programs that promote market access and fosters greater trade and investment between the U.S., Hong Kong and Greater China. HKUSBC Chairman Co-Chairmen John Slosar (Swire Pacific Chairman) and Ray Connor (The Boeing Company, Vice Chair) gave opening remarks which were followed by CG Tong’s welcoming remarks and a keynote address by former Hong Kong Chief Executive and HKUSBC co-founder Tung Chee Hwa.
