On June 21, Acting Consul General Thomas Hodges hosted a reception in honor of ten Fulbright Scholar Award recipients. Chairman of the Research Grants Council, Professor Benjamin Wah, and President of Lee Hysan Foundation, Ms. Cecilia Ho, both important sponsors and working partners of the Fulbright Program in Hong Kong, attended the event. They were joined by Mr. Karl Kwok and Glenn Shive of the Hong-Kong American Center, which administers key aspects of the Fulbright Program alongside the U.S. Consulate General. In his remarks, the Acting Consul General highlighted the importance of people-to-people ties and the strong partnerships that will develop between the U.S. and Hong Kong as a result of the ongoing exchanges through the Fulbright program. The Fulbright Program is the United States’ flagship international educational exchange program, and aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and the rest of the world.
