U.S. Consul General Clifford A. Hart, Jr., will lead a delegation of nearly 25 executives from 15 Hong Kong companies to the two-day SelectUSA 2015 Investment Summit, which will be held March 23-24 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, just outside Washington, DC. The Summit will bring together international investors, domestic economic development organizations, local elected officials, and academics to further explore investment opportunities all around the United States. The Hong Kong delegation will include Silas Chou, CEO of the Novel Group, as well as executives from the Langham Hospitality Group and the Esquel Group.
Consul General Hart notes: “SelectUSA is a top economic priority for the Obama Administration, and I have appreciated the work of the Hong Kong Select USA Committee in supporting our delegation’s visit. Hong Kong is a key gateway for Chinese outbound investment, which has become America’s fastest-growing source of foreign-direct investment. I look forward to building on the momentum of last year’s Summit to help companies from Hong Kong get the information they need to take advantage of the incredible investment opportunities that the United States offers.”
The Hong Kong SelectUSA Committee is a private sector group of investment professionals experienced in identifying, exploring and executing on overseas transactions and investments. The Committee is actively supported by the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the U.S. Consulate to Hong Kong and Macau.
To date, more than 2,000 people from 77 countries have registered for the Summit. The inaugural 2013 SelectUSA Investment Summit attracted investors from 60 countries, including three delegations led by ambassadors. In addition to senior administration officials and 64 top public and private sector representatives, President Obama addressed the first summit.
