U.S. Congressional Delegation visits Hong Kong

A Congressional delegation led by Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) visited Hong Kong August 28-29. While in Hong Kong, the delegation met with Chief Executive Carrie Lam, Legislative Council members, the Securities and Futures Commission as well as business leaders to discuss financial industry oversight, explore issues related to anti-money laundering and countering terror financing, monetary policy, U.S.-Asia trade policy, and anti-corruption efforts.

In his meetings with Hong Kong interlocutors, Representative Hensarling expressed strong support for the U.S.-Hong Kong relationship, and regular high-level engagement between the United States and Hong Kong across a broad variety of issues.
