U.S. Consulate to Offer Consular Services in Macau on September 30 and October 1

The U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong and Macau will be offering consular services for U.S. citizens in Macau on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.

Consular officers will be traveling to Macau to receive minor passport applications, first-time adult passport applications, and applications for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.  Given the anticipated high demand and limited staffing, we plan to offer passport and citizenship services that require the physical appearance of applicants and cannot be done remotely.  We unfortunately are unable to provide notarial services or accept adult passport applications during our visit.  Adult passport renewals may continue to be mailed to the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong, and the passports will be returned via mail in a self-paid envelope.

Appointments will be required to obtain services in Macau.  Please register here for an appointment.  If you are in need of citizenship or passport renewal services (minor and first-time adult passports), please make sure to register for all applicants who need services.  Our team will collect your information and schedule your appointment on a first-come, first-served basis.  You will receive an email confirmation with your scheduled appointment date and time in the next few days.  Given the continued difficulty of traveling to Macau and Consulate personnel being subject to the Macau government’s quarantine restrictions, the Consulate does not have another Macau day scheduled at this time.  We advise all U.S. citizens seeking services in Macau to please take advantage of this opportunity as it is uncertain when another consular visit can occur.

Please note that some applicants will be asked to submit their applications and supporting documents to us via email prior to the appointment.  Applicants must pay their application fees as a bank draft or cashier’s check that is payable to “USDO Symbol 8768”, drawn in U.S. dollars and within the last five months, and from a bank address in the United States.  Services will be provided at a location in Cotai, and more information will be included in the confirmation email.  Due to heavy demand, we are unable to accommodate changes to your appointment date or time.

Those interested in learning more about our consular visit on September 30 and October 1 may join us for a Macau Town Hall on Wednesday, September 14 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. HKT, where we will discuss the specifics of the visit and services provided and answer any questions you may have.  You can register here for our town hall discussion, and dial-in information will be provided via a separate email.  Please note this town hall is specific to U.S. citizens in Macau, and we will only address topics specific to our consular visit to Macau and any other issues affecting U.S. citizens in Macau.

If you have any questions or encounter any registration issues, you may reach us at acshk@state.gov.  We look forward to seeing you later this month.
